A Hoodslam original, here since the Victory days of 2010. He and his brother Anthony Butabi would adopt a brother Vinny Butabi on the first show, but sadly he was killed by Juice Lee within the segment. Johnny would drink his way through the pain, legitimately needing to be found before the events so we could start. He would have a feud with Rasta Mysterio over who’s finisher was the nerve hold (though neither used it as a finisher). It built to a retirement match at our first anniversary show “I know What you Did Last Hoodslam” that Johnny would lose. [he’d compete against comedian Caitlin Gill immediately after in spite of this retirement].

Johnny would come back that same night disguised as the injured Lucha Magnifico and winning the first ever Lethal Lottery BattleBowl Championship Trophy. The one who was intended to retire now had one more match, one which he would taunt and haunt Rasta Mysterio with seemingly endlessly. The feud would end somewhat anticlimactically when Rasta learned he was not the father of Mathea #2’s unborn and undead child, and lost much of his smile. Johnny would use his trophy to instead enter the first even Hoodslam Rumble of Ranking Ramifications by entering as #31 and eliminating the last competitor to become first Golden GiG champion.

As first champion, his retirement was agreed rescinded so that the company could move forth. Johnny would eventually lose the champion ship, and move on to win a feud with his child hood hero Mega Man, who had become an enemy of Hoodslam during the second CAPCOM invasion. He would also often battle with his own brother, Anthony Butabi, when they weren’t busy fighting the Stoner Brothers.

He sobered up once in 2014 and it messed him up so bad that he thought he was a detective afterwards. He would throw his nice jacket on and unraveled the truth behind the so called “Future fucks” and unmasked the robot DARK Sheik during the Trial of Doc Atrocity. Having sewed his oats, he just started drinking again… and became a baseball player? or something? He just kept calling everyone “kid” and saying “Welcome to the Big Leagues”.

This would lead to a short stint as tag team Champion, and brief altercations with Brutal Rob Hands and James C. He would then climb the ladder and prepare himself to face Golden GiG Champion El Chupacabra at Entertania X. Then the world shut down.

After the pandemic, Johnny had trouble finding the momentum he once had. But that all changed in the tournament to crown our new Champion Ship. Not knowing what he’d got himself into, Johnny won the tournament and found out with the rest of us that the Champion Ship was a literal ship in a bottle and he would now be a pirate. This suits him, though in the throes of battle he’s found himself with both injured hand and wounded eye.
